Eagles’ Hallock named coach of year,
Entinger named offensive player of year
OSHKOSH, Wis. – The awards are rolling in for the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team as it gets set to begin its run to a WIAC tournament championship.
Junior middle Jill Entinger was named co-conference offensive player of the year, while Lily Hallock was named coach of the year for the Eagles. Entinger and senior setter Jaclyn Barrette were named to the all-WIAC team, as well.
At 5 p.m. tonight, the co-WIAC regular-season champion Eagles (19-8, 6-1) begin the tourney with 11th-ranked Whitewater (29-4, 5-2), which took third in the conference.
UW-L earned a first-round bye as it heads into the semifinals. UW-Stevens Point (25-7, 4-3) takes on top-seeded UW-Oshkosh (26-7, 6-1) at 7:30 p.m. The championship takes place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Oshkosh.
On Oct. 28, UW-L swept Whitewater, then ranked eighth in Division 3.
Others earning awards for the Eagles were Leah Putzier and Stephanie Henk named WIAC honorable mention.
