Baseball team to use Copeland Park through 2033
Another 10 years for the La Crosse Loggers.
That’s part of a lease extension that the La Crosse city council votes on tonight.
It’s actually a renewable five-year lease extension that would keep the Loggers at Copeland Park until 2033.
“It gives us some longevity,” Loggers general manager Chris Goodell said, and added the lease extension also provides security for the team as they begin work on $800,000 worth of improvements to the park.
The new lease arrangement will increase the rent that the Loggers pay for baseball games by 2 percent per year and will allow more special, non-baseball events like a recent outdoor, MMA bout.
