HS Football scoreboard: Central still recovering from student’s death
Red Raiders were down 40-8 at halftime
A day after the murder of Central High School student, George V. Miller, and a postponed season-opener, it is likely the Red Raiders football team was still in shock and distracted on Saturday afternoon at UW-La Crosse.
Eau Claire North came in and dominated, led by quarterback Andrew LaRock, who was 9-for-9 for 229 yards, throwing both of his touchdowns within the first six minutes of the game (17 and 60 yards).
Eau Claire was up 33-0 before the Red Raiders finally got on the board. It was 40-8 at halftime. Central was outgained 488-167 and had zero yards passing on three attempts.
Miller, 17, was gunned down in the streets of La Crosse around 10 a.m. Friday.

Tyler Young threw two touchdowns and Isiah Brown ran for two in leading the Blugolds to an opening-season win.
Aquinas clinched the victory with a fourth-quarter interception, ending PdC’s final drive.

CALEDONIA, Minn. – It was 34-0 before the Lancers finally got on the board.
The Warriors’ Sam Stemper had 15 carries for 156 yards and a score, while Mitchell Schmitz went for 23-124 and three touchdowns (one receiving).
Caledonia outgained La Crescent 451-80.
