Brewers get reliever with 4.60 ERA
The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired Aramis Ramirez and cash considerations from the Milwaukee Brewers.
In return, the Brewers get minor league right-handed reliever Yhonathan Barrios, according to MLB.com.
Ramirez, 37, in the final year of his deal, who was rumored to be retiring after the season, is batting .247 with 11 home runs and 42 RBI, but has hit .352 with two homers and 9 RBI in July.
Barrios, 23, has a 4.60 ERA, for AAA Indianapolis. In 15.2 innings pitched, he’s given up 19 hits, eight earned runs with nine strike outs and eight walks.
But he is a pitcher that has gone from A to AA to AAA.
At Double-A Altoona, Barrios had a 1.46 ERA with 12 strikeouts and nine walks in 24.2 innings. In Single-A, he had a 2.68 ERA with 21 strikeouts and 17 walks in 40.1 innings.
