Badgers take down Minnesota, claim Big Ten title
ST PAUL – Last weekend, the University of Wisconsin clinched a share of the Big Ten title on senior night at the Kohl Center.
Thursday, the sixth-ranked Badgers claimed it outright with a 76-63 win over Minnesota at Williams Arena.
Bronson Koenig struggled again with his shot, going 3-for-8 form the field (2 of 4 from beyond the arc) in scoring eight points. He also had a season-high three turnovers.
In his last five games, Koenig is just 13-for-52 from the field (25 percent) and 7 of 25 from beyond the arc, averaging eight points. He also has nine turnovers in those five games. He has 14 turnovers in the other 15 contests – nine of those as a starter.
Against Minnesota, the senior NBA prospects dominated. Frank Kaminsky was 10 of 15, scoring 25 points to go with seven assists and six rebounds. Teammate Sam Dekker scored 20 on 7-of-14 shooting.
Wisconsin was up 44-34 at halftime, shooting a blistering 63 percent from the field. The Badgers held Minnesota to just 41-percent shooting in the contest.
