LA CROSSE, Wis. – Heading into the WIAA Division 4 girls sectional semifinal, all the hype was about University of Wisconsin-Green Bay recruit Macenzie Kraemer.
The Wisconsin Heights High School junior didn’t disappoint, either, finishing with 17 points – one above her average – but it took her until midway through the second to get in the scoring book.
It was Aquinas senior Chelsea Ritter that stole the show. The forward scored 29 points in leading the Blugolds to a 69-59 win over Wisconsin Heights (18-7) on Thursday at La Crosse Central High School.
At 1 p.m. Saturday, seventh-ranked Aquinas (20-4) will face the top team in Division 4, Cuba City (25-0) in Baraboo, Wis.
