Sports Illustrated cover boy, Frank Kaminsky, had 19 points, 11 rebounds for the Wisconsin men’s basketball team in an exhibition with UW-Parkside.

The second-ranked Badgers easily won 77-40 at the Kohl Center.

Kaminsky, featured on this week’s SI cover, enters the season as the No. 1-ranked player in college basketball after the Badgers’ run to the Final Four last season.

“I’m not really thinking much about it, I’m just going to go out there and play the way I know how to play,” Kaminsky said of the hype surrounding him. “It’s kind of weird seeing how all these people say all of these different things. I know it’s getting annoying for myself with Twitter and emailing and things like that, but I’m just excited for the season to start, so maybe some of that will go away.”

La Crosse native, sophomore Bronson Koenig, started and played 29 minutes. He was 2-for-5 from the field, scoring five points and adding three assists a block and a turnover.

Wisconsin outrebounded Division II Parkside 53-28 and shot 8-for-19 from beyond the arc. The Rangers shot just 33 percent. Wisconsin shot a ridiculous 69 percent.

Four players finished in double figures for the Badgers. Nigel Hayes had 13 points, 11 rebounds and Traevon Jackson added 15 and 7.

Wisconsin opens the season at home Nov. 14 against Northern Kentucky.
