Badgers hold off St. Louis

PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico – Traevon Jackson had 16 and Frank Kaminsky scored 12 in leading the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team to a 63-57 win Tuesday.
The Badgers play again at 8:30 p.m. tonight against West Virginia in the Cancun Challenge.
Freshman Bronson Koenig, a La Crosse native, played just 9 minutes, going 1-for-1 from beyond the arc. Jackson, the starting point guard, played 36 minutes.
Wisconsin (7-0), ranked 10th in the country, was up 31-23 at halftime and shot 47 percent from the field. Saint Louis (5-1) shot just 33 percent.
The Badgers were up as many as 12 in the second half and as little as 5 with 1:42 remaining.
