A couple blowouts went down last night … but not because of Oktoberfest.
La Crosse Central’s high school football team took advantage of an injured Aquinas in a 45-7 win at UW-La Crosse. The Blugolds were without their starting backfield – quarterback and top two running backs.
Central (4-2, 2-2 MVC) was up 38-7 at halftime. Aquinas drops to 3-3 and 0-3 in conference.
On the other end of town, Logan kept Sparta winless with a 48-0 home win.
The Rangers (5-1, 4-0) are still tied atop the conference with Holmen, which blew out Tomah 50-7 to remain undefeated (6-0, 4-0).
Onalaska dropped to 2-4 on the season, shutout by Mosinee (5-1), 36-0.
There are three weeks to go in the regular season. Teams must be over .500 in conference to qualify for the postseason. Holmen and Logan are already locks for the playoffs.
