Central falls to top-seeded Menomonie. 

The first round of the WIAA high school football playoffs saw all the top seeds in the Mississippi Valley Conference advance.

IN DIVISION 3, Onalaska pulled away from Mosinee in the second half to win 44-21 — scoring 19 unanswered points.

The third-seeded Hilltoppers (8-2) will play No. 2 Rice Lake (7-2). All Round 2 games are at 7 p.m. Friday.

West Salem held off New Richmond 17-14. The Panthers knocked down what would have been the winning touchdown pass on fourth down from the 16 yard line with under a minute to play.

No. 4 West Salem (8-2) will head to top-seeded Antigo (9-1).

IN DIVISION 2, Top-seeded and 10th-ranked Menomonie took down Central 45-14 in Division 2.

No. 4 Holmen (8-2) had zero problems with fifth-seeded Marshfield, winning 34-0. Those two teams will play each other next week in Menomonie (10-0).

Holmen lost at Menomonie 49-14 in Week 2.
